Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary

Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary also known as 'Pakshi Kashi of Karnataka'. It is the largest bird sanctuary in the state and its spread around 40 acres. Roughly around 170 birds have been recorded here in great numbers over the years. Of these, birds like Painted Stork, Asian Openbill Stork, Common Spoonbill, Woolly-necked Stork, Black-headed Ibis, Lesser Whistling Duck, Indian Shag, Stork-billed Kingfisher and other common birds like egrets, cormorants, Oriental Darter, and herons breed here regularly.

Abbey Falls

The river is part of the early reaches of the river Kaveri. Flow is much higher during the monsoon season. The waterfall is located between private coffee plantations with stocky coffee bushes and spice estates with trees entwined with pepper vines. A hanging bridge constructed just opposite the falls. There is a Kali Mata temple on one side of the bridge.
